DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking an EIT to work with our North Bay office Transportation/Traffic Group.  The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our project teams. Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Assisting intermediate and senior staff with engineering design on a variety of projects;
  • Completing detailed engineering drawings in AutoCAD;
  • Developing quantity estimates, working day schedules, and cost estimates;
  • Assisting in the preparation of tender document specifications;
  • Providing input into preparation of engineering service proposals;
  • Aiding in some site reviews / field inspections; and
  • Preparing technical reports for a variety of transportation projects. 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Completion of a university degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Up to 2 years of design experience on transportation engineering projects (would be considered an asset);
  • Pursuing or holds licensing as a Professional Engineer in Ontario;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Proficient with AutoCAD (experience with InRoads would be considered an asset);
  • Experience in writing tender specifications (experience using MTO’s Contract Preparation System (CPS) would be considered an asset);
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and time management;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle that has valid registration and insurance.
