DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of our Environmental group, you will be working with multi-disciplinary teams on various types of projects. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage environmental projects in the fields of hydrogeology, site assessment and remediation, aggregate assessment, etc.;
  • Oversee fieldwork, collect and analyze data, and prepare polished technical reports for a variety of public and private-sector clients;
  • As needed, conduct site inspections, drilling supervision, environmental sampling, contractor oversight and remediation;
  • Coach and mentor junior staff;
  • Business development/client relationship management;
  • Prepare winning proposals, and;
  • Other duties as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education in Environmental or Geological Science, Geosciences, Civil or Environmental Engineering;
  • Registered or eligible to immediately register as P. Geo. or P. Eng. (with training in geosciences), registered in good standing within the Province of Ontario and/or nationally;
  • Qualified Person as per O. Reg. 153/04, as amended;
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant environmental project management and technical experience;
  • Practical experience in approvals and requirements related to hydrogeology studies, EASR/Permit-To-Take-Water applications, municipal short/long-term discharge approvals, construction dewatering, environmental site assessment, site remediation, and aggregate resources;
  • Experience working with Conservation Authorities and other Municipal and Provincial regulators considered a strong asset;
  • Practical experience and knowledge of Ontario environmental legislation (O. Reg. 153/04, as amended, O. Reg. 903, Procedure D-5-5, Aggregate Resources Act, etc.);
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience with aquifer testing methods and borehole logging software (GINT, WinLog or other programs) will be considered an asset;
  • Experience with groundwater, contaminant, or air quality modelling software considered an asset;
  • Experience preparing water balances and/or Low-Impact Development Strategies
  • Experience within a consulting environment and general contracting environment, collaborating with other teams (geotechnical, structures, pavement, etc.);
  • Flexible with project types and responsibilities, undertaking a range of duties from basic and repetitive tasks to broader assessments of environmental projects;
  • Strong project and client management skills, and;
  • Well-organized with the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time;
