As a member of our Transportation team, you will be working remotely from anywhere in Ontario, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist multi-disciplinary teams with highway engineering design on a variety of projects;
  • Provide overall work progress and technical performance on highway engineering projects to ensure timelines and quality expectations are being met;
  • Acting as a key highway designer, with senior manager support, for preliminary and detailed design transportation projects for MTO and local municipalities;
  • Preparing preliminary and detailed designs ranging from freeways, urban and rural multilane and two-lane facilities, interchanges, and intersections;
  • Preparation of technical reports, design drawings, design quantities, and contract documents;
  • Ensuring that corporate and client QA/QC practices and project correspondence files are completed on all projects, and
  • With support from senior management, coordinating with clients, approval agencies, utility companies, contractors, etc.
  • Provide support and oversight of junior staff to complete various highway engineering tasks;



  • A college diploma, or university degree in the Civil Engineering field;
  • 15+ years of progressive related experience in highway design, including MTO highway design
  • Has developed an excellent reputation working with MTO and local municipalities;
  • Thorough knowledge in Highway/Transportation Engineering including policies, regulations, guidelines and operational procedures;
  • Demonstrated experience in preliminary and detail design work with proven design capabilities;
  • Competent in utilizing MTO design software (AutoCAD, InRoads, etc.);
  • Experienced with project delivery, quality control processes, and has worked in, or has an understanding of the consulting engineering environment;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clients and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
