DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of our Structural Engineering team, you will be working on a variety of projects alongside other multidisciplinary teams. In your role you will report to the Assistant Vice President, Building Restoration/Structural Engineering while leveraging your skills, knowledge and experience in delivering high quality projects. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:


  • Leading structural engineering projects including detailed design and support during the construction phase; 
  • Liaising with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors;
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposal submissions;
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff;
  • Designing and stamping medium to complex designs;
  • Assisting to identify and develop new business opportunities, and;
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

 

QUALIFICATIONS


  • University degree in Civil/Structural Engineering;
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario and in good standing;
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Quebec (considered an asset);
  • 5 + years of design experience on structural engineering projects in Ontario;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French would be considered an asset);
  • Familiar with all applicable building codes and design standards;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint SharePoint. Familiar with AutoCAD;
  • Working knowledge of structural design software (ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Woodworks, etc.); and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
