McIntosh Perry is looking for a qualified Junior Geotechnical Engineer/EIT to work in our Ottawa office. The Geotechnical team in Ottawa offers a wide range of geotechnical services for foundation engineering, pavement engineering, materials engineering, and laboratory testing. The successful candidate will be a part of our growing team of engineers, technicians, and scientists. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working independently with limited supervision to define the scope of work and to provide cost estimates for conventional geotechnical assignments;
  • Coordinating site, laboratory, and engineering work;
  • Liaising with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies
  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals for a variety of clients and sectors.
  • Report writing, analysis, and design; 
  • Managing of project schedules and budgets; and
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering;
  • Minimum of four-years relevant experience;
  • Registered as P. Eng. by Professional Engineers Ontario or eligibility to receive P. Eng. shortly;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • Commitment to health and safety regulations and desire to contribute to a safe work environment;
  • Willingness to travel out of town temporarily as needed by the project; and
  • Possess a valid G driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
