DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking Junior Engineers to join our offices in North Bay, the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), and Kingston. Living in these locations is preferred, but not required, as McIntosh Perry embraces a flexible work environment. Occasional travel to the relevant office will be required.

 

The successful candidate will use their knowledge, skills, and abilities to support senior team members in highway design contract delivery by:

  • Participate in the development and evaluation of design alternatives;
  • Supervise the development of highway alignment plans, profiles, cross-sections, and construction staging plans;
  • Develop contract documentation, design quantities, cost estimates, and permit documents as required during the life expectancy of a highway project;
  • Provide input into the preparation of proposals for clients requesting engineering services;
  • Assist intermediate and senior staff with engineering design on a variety of projects;
  • Aid in site reviews / field inspections;
  • Prepare technical specifications and reports for a variety of transportation projects; and
  • Mentor junior staff with technical and professional development. 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a university degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Minimum of two years of highway design experience on transportation engineering projects;
  • Holds licensing as a Professional Engineer in Ontario;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD (experience with InRoads/Open Roads Design would be considered and asset);
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and time management; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle that has valid registration and insurance.
