DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of our Geo-Environmental team, you will be working with multi-disciplinary teams and supporting various projects. The ideal candidate will enjoy being in the field. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Hydrogeological testing;
  • Pumping tests and infiltration testing;
  • Preparation of EASR and PTTW applications;
  • Phase I/II ESAs;
  • Sampling of excess soil at construction projects;
  • Site remediations;
  • Environmental monitoring at waste disposal sites, lagoons, former mine sites, etc.;
  • Air quality monitoring;
  • Occasional field work supporting other MP groups (natural sciences, land development, environmental engineering, etc.);
  • Data analysis and reporting;
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate from a university or college program in Environmental Science, Geology, Earth Sciences, Biology, Environmental Engineering or related field;
  • Up to 5 years of work experience in environmental site assessment, hydrogeology, geotechnical engineering or related field;
  • Ability to travel throughout Ontario and occasionally out-of-the province for work assignments;
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including full days in the field during winter months;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Demonstrated experience with field techniques (i.e. site inspections, hydrogeological testing, etc.) would be considered an asset;
  • Strong problem solving skill, combined with critical thinking and resilience;
  • Experience with reporting and/or data analysis will be considered an asset;
  • Possess a valid G driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance
