Reporting to the Manager, Geo-Environmental, you will be an integral part of our team responsible for geoscience, geo-engineering and hydrogeology projects within the team. You will be providing leadership to our Environmental Team and working closely with other groups (Planning, Land Development, Municipal and Transportation Engineering) to expand our GTA based services. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage Phase I/One and II/Two Environmental Site Assessments, Remediation and Hydrogeology Studies;
  • Prepare service proposals for both private and public clients (developers, general contractors, Ontario ministries, etc.);
  • Liaise with clients, government and /or regulatory bodies as well as contractors;
  • Supervise and mentor junior scientists and engineers;
  • Prepare technical specifications & reports;
  • Prepare approval packages for Record of Site Conditions (RSC), Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECA), etc.;
  • Promote and oversee compliance with health and safety regulations;
  • Review preliminary site plans for regulatory compliance; and
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.



  • University degree in geosciences, geological, civil or environmental engineering;
  • Registered Professional Geoscientist or Professional Engineer (with training in geoscience) in good standing in the Province of Ontario;
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant environmental project experience;
  • Familiar with O. Regs. 153/04 (Brownfields and amendments), 406/19 (Excess Soils), 903 (Wells), MOE Guidance D-5-5 (Water Quality Assessment) and other environmental regulations in Ontario (experience with municipal guidelines and SPA/ZBAs;
  • Proficient with MS Office tools and borehole logging software (experience with aquifer testing or hydrogeological models considered an asset);
  • Both field and reporting experience in the areas of environmental site assessments and site remediation (experience in hydrogeological studies considered an asset);
  • Strong working knowledge of soil and ground water testing and remediation techniques;
  • Experience with environmental permitting and approvals including RSC and ECA(experience with EASR, PTTW and ARA considered and asset);
  • Experience in costing out projects and writing winning proposals;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French considered an asset);
  • Experience with mentoring and directing junior staff and field technicians;
  • Excellent organizational, time management, project management, interpersonal and client management skills;
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
