As an Engineering Intern, you will be working with multidisciplinary teams on various types of projects. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:


  • Assist senior staff in preliminary and detailed design including structural analysis for reinforced concrete and steel structures on a variety of projects;
  • Attend meetings and take meeting minutes;
  • Assist bridge and culvert inspections in accordance with applicable inspection standards;
  • Prepare engineering reports including inspection memos, technical memos, and structural assessment reports under engineer’s supervision;
  • Assist preparation of tender documents including quantity estimates, working day schedules, cost estimates and specifications;
  • Assist the preparation of technical proposals and engineering presentation materials; and, 
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.




  • Completion of a Bachelor Degree or a Master Degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based environment.
  • Ability to prioritize assigned works in multi-tasking environment and organize effectively as well as problem solving by seeking guidance as necessary.
  • Design experience on transportation structures projects will be an asset;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Presentation skills with clients and colleagues;
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and/or Microstation will be an asset;
  • Experience in writing tender specifications will be an asset; and,
  • Possess a valid driver’s license in Ontario.
